My work has centered around communications for various causes my entire life: Arthritis Foundation, the Democratic National Committee, Courage Center, National Institute for Media and the Family, SHiFT, various charter schools, and The Minneapolis Farmers Market. I currently own my own small business called Room B, LLC –putting words to work by offering public relations and marketing services to organizations that cannot afford a full-time publicist.
But the cause I care most about is Room A –where the creative writing happens. I am inspired by the possibility behind every second of life always before us, for both children and adults. I recently completed a draft of my first adult novel Blind Approach, and am now engaged in writing a book series for children, The Lady with the Big Green Purse, a series of five tales and the adventure of imagination.
I grew up in Chicago suburbs, Des Moines, Iowa, went to school at Creighton (studied Philosophy and Political Science), moved to Washington DC to help the Democratic Party, met her husband at OHare Airport and together raised two beautiful sons in Minneapolis. An artist to the bone – I quilt, cook, draw, host aFake Thanksgiving for friends, photographs skies, drive my VW convertible with the top-down year-round, and have a weakness for fountain pens and green purses.
